What happened
The (UN)REAL AI Film Festival takes entries until 31 October for its 2026 edition, held on 27 and 28 November at Feat. House, Via Giuseppe Giacosa 15, Turin. Entry costs €50 per work through the festival's own form, and finalists are named on 14 November.
There are six categories: features, shorts of up to 20 minutes, animation and motion, documentary, advertising, and video art, experimental or installation. A work need not be fully generated, but AI must have played a significant artistic role. Hybrid films with live-action footage qualify.
Why it matters
An entrant must state the role AI played, and the form asks for the tools used and the workflow. The rules require a signed release from any person whose face, voice or likeness was generated or modified with AI.
The rules also bar cloning a real person's voice, face or likeness without consent, deepfakes of identifiable people without authorisation, and content that falsely attributes words, actions or opinions to real people. A breach means immediate exclusion.
Still open
As of 26 October the site gives no closing time on 31 October. Its entry form asks for a release whenever real faces, voices or likeness appear, which is wider than the rules.
For your film
Collect any signed release before you open the entry form, which closes on 31 October.
