What happened
Submissions for New Frames 2026, EuGFA's competition for students in Europe, closed on 30 October at 23:59 Tallinn time. Late entries are not accepted. The shortlist is due on 6 November 2026, public voting runs from 6 to 14 November inclusive, and the winners are announced on 15 November.
The prizes total €900: a €500 Grand Prize, €300 for Best AI Filmmaking and €100 for Viewers' Favourite, which is chosen by verified public votes among the shortlisted films.
Why it matters
For teachers and programmers, the shortlist will be a set of student films made under one rulebook: one to five minutes plus up to 30 seconds of credits, teams of one to four, entrants aged 18 or over and studying in Europe. Viewers' Favourite is the one prize with a stated public decider, so the audience settles €100 of the €900.
Still open
The New Frames page gives no time of day for the start or end of voting. EuGFA's home page lists New Frames under upcoming events as 1 October to 1 November, which does not match the 30 October closing on the competition page.
For your film
Readers can watch the shortlist and vote between 6 and 14 November; the New Frames page says voting opens with the shortlist.
