What happened
Creative Europe's Creative Innovation Lab call, CREA-CROSS-2027-INNOVLAB, opened on 22 October 2026 under the EU agency EACEA. As of 23 October 2026, the estimated budget is €7,183,502, subject to adoption of the EU's 2027 budget. Proposals are due by 22 April 2027 at 17:00 CET.
Projects cover audiovisual work, including games, plus music, books or museums. They focus on virtual worlds for European content, business tools for production, financing, distribution or promotion, or greener practices. EU funding covers 80% of costs, with no grant cap.
Why it matters
The call aims to help the sectors adapt to artificial intelligence, and its award criteria weigh each proposal's strategy for integrating AI. Business tools for production or distribution enabled by AI fit the call's second topic.
Natural persons are not eligible, but a self-employed sole trader without separate legal personality can apply. Grantees may pass on up to €60,000 per third party, more only if justified, through open calls lasting at least two months.
Still open
The call document gives no indicative grant size or number of projects, and the Commission may leave part of the €7,183,502 unawarded.
For your film
Each beneficiary must register and be validated in the EU Participant Register; proposals go in only through the EU Funding & Tenders Portal. Applicants who draft with generative AI must disclose which tools they used and how.
