What happened
Creative Europe MEDIA opened the call Innovative tools and business models, reference CREA-MEDIA-2027-INNOVBUSMOD, on 30 September 2026. Applications close on 14 January 2027 at 17:00 CET. The deadline cannot be extended.
The estimated budget is €14 million. Grants cover 80% of eligible costs, and the call sets no fixed limit on the amount requested.
Why it matters
The call is open to legal entities established in countries taking full part in MEDIA, applying alone or as a consortium of at least two. Individual makers cannot apply unless they trade as sole traders, so a director takes part through an organisation that applies.
AI appears in both the scope and the scoring. The call funds tools and business models that help the audiovisual industry adapt to AI, and evaluators assess each proposal's strategy on integrating AI. Applicants may use generative AI to write the proposal but must disclose which tools they used and how.

As of 19 October, the call document gives the €14 million as an estimate that depends on final adoption of the EU's 2027 budget.
