## What happened

We Are Human, a French non-profit association based in Saint-Mandé, has chosen the 20 films of its first official selection from entries from more than 140 countries. The festival runs on 24 November 2026 at the Forum des images in Paris. Admission is free with registration through FilmFreeway.

The call, which closed on 30 September, asked for human and AI hybrid works of 1 to 10 minutes inspired by Article 1 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights. Three awards total €10,000: a €5,000 Grand Prize, a €3,000 Best Screenplay Award and a €2,000 Ethics Award, presented from 19:30 CET.

## Why it matters

For makers, the festival's Ethics Notebook turns a disclosure into a public text. Every entrant answered four questions: the AI tools used, the human role, ethical tensions met in production and the link to the theme.

The festival shows each notebook with its film, uses the answers in its panels and plans to publish the compiled notebooks after the festival as an archive. Each notebook also travels with its film to partner screenings in seven cities outside Paris, from Geneva to São Paulo, between December 2026 and March 2027.

## Still open

The selection page does not yet list the 20 titles, and speakers for the four conversations are still to be named. No date or place is given for the notebook archive.
